JVC D-ILA HD projectors outed: up to 70k:1 contrast
JVC have outed their latest range of D-ILA home theater projectors, with a full six models on offer spanning prices from $5,000 to $10,000. Three - the DLA-RS35, DLA-RS25 and DLA-RS15 - will be pushed via JVC’s professional products arm, while the remainder - the DLA-HD990, DLA-HD950 and DLA-HD550 - will go on sale via the consumer group. Most impressive about all the models, though, are their contrast ratios: even the entry HD550 manages 30,000:1, while the top-spec RS35 and HD990 manage 70,000:1.
Four of them - the RS35, HD990, RS25 and HD950 - are THX certified, and interpolate colors separately in three separate axes of color phase, chroma saturation and brightness. All models have a 1.4 – 2.8:1 zoom lens with motorized auto-focus, manual gamma curve adjustment and ±80 percent vertical and ±34 percent horizontal motorized lens shift managed from the included remote control.
Connectivity includes HDMI 1.3, and there’s also double-speed 120Hz Clear Motion Drive across the board. The projectors begin shipping this month, priced at $5,000 for the HD550, $5,500 for the RS15, $8,000 for the RS25/HD950 and $10,000 for the RS35/HD990.
