LG Releases BX401C Projector

LG is proud to announce their latest large venue projector, the BX401C. This projector is small, but can display big images with 4000 ANSI lumens, XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, and a 2800:1 contrast ratio. The projector only weight 10 lbs, which makes it ideal for traveling. The added brightness is also convenient for any user who need to display images in brightly lit rooms or for extra large screens. The only concern is that the connection panel is limited and only comes with dual RGB ports, a composite, and a HDMI slot. As of right now, the BX401C is not available in the US yet, but it is available in Europe and Asia. The retail price has not been released yet.

ViewSonic PJD6211Projector Review

PJD6211_a1

One of the latest projectors to come from ViewSonic is the PJD6211. This device features 2500 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. This projector was recently reviewed by the writers from PC Authority. The main focus of the review was the projector’s ability to display 3D content, especially for gaming purposes. It might have been the individual projector, but the writers had a very horrible experience with the projector. For starters, while looking at the manual to setup the 3D system, the manual tells them to connect a DVI or HDMI cable, but the projector doesn’t have either connection. Another problem was trying to get the projector to recognize the 3D system. In order to see 3D content, the user has to use NVIDIA’s 3D Vision system. The writers commented that the image quality was impressive, but not while the 3D system was activated. The final comment that the writer made was, ‘We wouldn’t recommend buying a 3D projector or monitor if that isn’t a large part of what you intend to use it for, which means we can’t recommend the ViewSonic PJD6211 at all.’

Microvision Announces Show WX Projector Coming Soon to Africa

showwx_a1

The Microvision ShowWX projector has become very popular in the projector industry. This device features 10 ANSI lumens, a 5000:1 contrast ratio and WVGA (848 x 480) resolution. Recently, the company announced that the Show will be released in Africa sometime in March. The main feature about the Show is the new laser display technology. This system uses three colored lasers to provide the brightness and resolution of the image. The result is an amazing image that has far better contrast than any LED pico projector. Also, because the system is laser-based, the projector never needs focusing and can even project clear images on curved or angled walls. The expected retail price for the Show WX is about R3800 ($506), but in the USA, the projector will retail for just under $500.
