ViewSonic PJ260D Projector Review

The ViewSonic PJ260D is one of the company’s smallest DLP projectors. This model features 2000 ANSI lumens, a 20000:1 contrast ratio, and a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. PC World recently reviewed this projector to see how it compared against other leading pocket projectors. The writers were happy to see that the resolution and relatively high brightness allowed this projector to be used in large business rooms or class rooms. They were also happy to see a full array of connection options like RGB, composite and s-video as well as audio input. Out of all the image tests the writers put it through, the only problems that they saw was with the motion and video tests. They also noticed that the colors were not always accurate and sometimes look faded. However, even with these problems the writers stated, ‘If your primary use for a projector is to make presentations, and if you don’t mind running your presentations in XGA resolution (to obtain the best image sharpness and clarity) or fiddling with the controls to get the best color, the ViewSonic PJ260D might be for you. But the competing Acer P3250 XGA projector-which offers most of the same features, has better default color, includes an HDMI input for digital display, and costs less-is the better deal.’
