The Sony VPL-HW15 projector is one of the newest additions to the company’s BRAVIA series. This model features 1000 ANSI lumens, a 60000:1 contrast ratio, and HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. Recently, Trusted Reviews released their review of the HW15 to see how good it is. Even though the projector is a little husky, the writers were happy to see that the projector had a sturdy build. The writers had one of the easiest setups with this projector and liked the fact that it had such a diverse array of connections. Almost everything about the projector received high marks from the writer, the only concerns that the writer mentioned involved many of the extra features like the auto iris. The writer also mentioned that not all the colors were perfect, especially during darkish scenes. However, even with these minor flaws, the writer’s verdict was, ‘The first of Sony’s new projectors suggests that SXRD technology is certainly not, as I’d feared, going to be left behind in the mad race for projection domination we’re destined to witness in the coming pre-Christmas weeks. The VPL-HW15 is pretty, considerate, surprisingly affordable, and best of all, really very good.’
