Last month, Optoma announced that they were going to develop a third pico projector, the PK100, which is basically a base model compared to the other two. Today, the company is proud to announce that the PK100 is now on the shelves and is available for purchasing. The projector does not have the extra ports or the brightness as its counterparts, but it is dramatically reduced in price. The PK100 features 11 ANSI lumens, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and HVGA (480 x 320) resolution. The projector is also capable of displaying a 60’ image from only 8.5 feet. The only connections that come with the PK100 include an audio jack and an AV jack that can used for composite connections or to connect to Apple products like the iPhone and iPod. One of the improvements Optoma has made is an increased battery life that can run for up to 2 hours. The PK100 is available through certified retailers like Amazon and is priced a little lower than expected, $196.
