Emagine Theaters Receives Christie CP2000-ZX Projectors

Emagine Theaters serve over two million moviegoers annually and are widely regarded as being at the forefront of technology, as well as among the finest in the markets they serve. Recently, the company asked Christie to convert their 10-screen theater in Woodhaven Michigan. The theater can sit over 16000 and each screen comes with digital sound and high-backed rocking seats. Each screen will also be equipped with the Christie CP2000-ZX projector, which features 9000 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and 2K HD (2048 x 1080) resolution. In addition, each projector will be able to project both standard 2D images and 3D images. ‘Among the prime reasons we selected Christie digital cinema projectors were that they deliver the best light output and have the best lamp efficiency,’ said David Zylstra, director of technology, Emagine Theatres. ‘Our decision was also based on previous experience with Christie CP2000 series projectors, which we have installed in all of our other Emagine locations. Christie projectors have proven to be reliable, cost-effective and to deliver the most consistent performance.’ While all the screens will have the 3D capability, only three of the screen will be used and will be equipped to use RealD 3D technology.
