Microvision is a developer of light-scanning technologies for display and imaging products. Today, the company announced that they will be on display this weekend at the CES in Las Vegas. The main product that they will be displaying is their SHOW WX pico projector, which features 10 ANSI lumens, a 5000:1 contrast ratio, and WVGA (848 x 480) resolution. The main feature however is that this projector is the first model to use lasers to project the image. The device has three lasers (red, green, and blue). By combining these three colors, the projector is capable of creating a wide array of colors. The benefits of having a laser projector are that it never needs focusing and it is considerably smaller than a typical LED system. ‘Interest and demand for this product is very strong and we’re excited to have the SHOWWX as our center piece at CES,’ stated Ian Brown, Microvision Vice President of Sales and Marketing. ‘We have created a unique and engaging presentation for attendees which is sure to drive awareness of the product’s key features and benefits. We look forward to introducing the product in additional customer channels during 2010, with a planned Microvision direct campaign in the U.S. targeted for March.’
