Vivitek H9080FD Projector Review
One of the many home theater projectors to come from Vivitek is the H9080FD. This model features 800 ANSI lumens, a 1080p HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and an impressive 100000:1 contrast ratio. Today, the writers from Home Entertainment released their review of this device. One of the first things they mentioned was the bulky body. However, they do state that if you are loosing $15k for a projector it better have some heft to it. The main feature about this projector is the LED lamp system. This is one of the first home theater projectors to use this technology, especially at this brightness. Another feature that the writers liked was the color reproduction. The colors were very accurate, given the LED light technology, and in some images even look better than other projectors. One of the concerns that were made was the lack of adjustment features. These aren’t terribly important but it could be a problem for any serious videophille. The final comment that was made was, ‘As a first-generation product, and one of Vivitek’s first high-end projectors, the H9080FD is great. The quality and vibrancy of the color goes a long, long way in absolving any quirks. The color really is that much better than other projectors. Even if you factor in bulb replacement over the, ahem, projected lifespan, the price is still pretty steep. If you’re like me and you see the cents click past every time your projector is on, then the peace of mind afforded by an LED projector with an approximately 20,000-hour lifespan for its light source is worth the premium. As a sign of things to come, I’m even more excited. LED offers startlingly lifelike color wrapped in a package that’s more environmentally friendly. Sign me up.’
