Acer S5200 Projector Review

Acer S5200 Projector Review

One of the many data projectors to come from Acer is the S5200. This model features 3000 ANSI lumens and a 2500:1 contrast ratio, but only comes with a XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. Today, a writer from IT Reviews got to publish their experience with this projector. The main feature that the writer liked was the short throw lens. This allows the projector to display up to a 300 inch display from only 12 feet away. This makes it ideal for educational uses. The image quality was noted to be good for a XGA resolution. The writer also thought the color was rich and vibrant. Other features that the writer was impressed with were the included HDMI port for 1080p streaming and its 3D compatibility. However they did notice that the on-screen menu did not provide a lot of information about how to use the 3D features. The final verdict was, ‘The S5200 is ideal for classroom use, either for still or video display. Its ultra short-throw makes it particularly easy for a teacher to combine projection with presentation from the front of class and the projector is bright enough for use in a normally lit room. Whether 3D will be a major part of its remit is less certain, as the cost and maintenance of 30+ sets of specs and the current lack of 3D educational content may hold it back.’
