Hitahci Unveils CP-A200 Projector

Hitachi is proud to unveil their latest short throw projector, the CP-A200. This model has already been released in Japan as the CP-A200J but is finally making its way to the USA. The CP-A200 features 3000 ANSI lumens, XGA (1024 x 768) resolution and the ability to project a 60 inch display from only 18.5 inches from the screen. The projector achieves the short throw distance by using a mirror that the projector shines on. The mirror not only reflects the image, but helps increase the size as it hits the screen. The mirror also helps with the projector’s positioning. The A200’s main features are its security systems, which include a PIN lock, a security bar, and a Kensington slot. Other features include Perfect Fit 2 technology, a Template Function, and easy maintenance access. ‘Hitachi continues to lead the way in the ultra-short-throw category of projectors,’ says John Glad, product manager, Hitachi America, Ltd., Digital Media Division, Business Solutions Group. ‘Our latest addition to the series, the CP-A200, offers the most brightness of any of our ultra-short-throw projectors and features improved Perfect Fit and a 2,000-hour hybrid filter.’ The CP-A200 will be available soon, but the company did not release the retail price at this time.

Optoma EW330 Projector Review

One of Optoma’s micro projectors is the EW330. This device features 2200 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution. Today, the writers from My Laptop released their review of this projector. The first thing they commented about was the sixe. The EW330 weighs only 2.6 lbs and measures 8.1’ x 2.5’ x 6.1’ (W x H x D). The small size makes it idea for people who need to travel a lot or a company who wants to use one projector for several different rooms. Other compliments include the projector’s high brightness and contrast ratio. This allows the display to be seen in almost normal room light settings, but of course darker is always better. The only aspect that the writers didn’t like was the 16:10 aspect ratio. While this is good for many laptops, it isn’t a true widescreen, which come with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The final verdict that they made was, ‘The Optoma EW330 delivers a stunning image from what is a remarkably compact and portable projector. Sure, it’s designed for life on the move but with a price of around £799 (inc. VAT), it’s certainly worth considering for smaller homes.’
