Runco Tours the USA with New Projectors

Runco is a market leader in state-of-the-art projection systems, flat-panel plasma monitors, video processors and other components for the custom consumer market. Today, the company has announced that they will be touring their latest HD projectors and flat panel displays at events in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Portland, and Denver. One of the new products Runco mentioned is their Quantum Color Q-750i projector, which features DLP display technology, 700 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 10000:1 contrast ratio. This projector is one of the company’s first models to use LED lamps instead of the conventional halogen lights. The VX-33i is another projector that Runco will be displaying. This model comes from their SuperOnyx series, and features 3480 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. The VX-33i also comes with dual HDMI ports, a VGA, composite, and an s-video input. The other major projector Runco will be displaying is the VX-22i. This mode features a 4000:1 contrast ratio, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and 2850 ANSI lumens.

Panasonic Releases PT-AE4000E Projector

Back in October, Panasonic released their latest home theater projector, the PT-AE4000U. Today, the company has announced that they are now releasing its sibling, the PT-AE4000E. The only difference between the two is that the AE4000E is only available in Europe and Asia, while the AE4000U is only available in the Americas. The AE4000 features full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 1600 ANSI lumens, and a very impressive 80000:1 contrast ratio. This model is designed mainly for videophiles and features a wide array of adjustment features. This allows the user to tweak the projector so that it displays perfectly according to the user’s specifications. Another key feature is the inclusion of three HDMI ports as well as the typical RGB, s-video, composite and component ports. Panasonic has also included a 12V trigger port to help add simplicity and style to your home theater. In the US the PT-AE4000U retails for just under $2500, but the PT-AE4000E is expected to retail for AUD $4398 (US $4019).

No, we're not talking about the iPhone getting its very own built-in projector here, but the HypnosEye can connect to your iPhone, iPod touch or other mobile devices while projecting it via a separate light source by using a special anti-glare mirror and lens to blow up the screen onto a projection surface. The HypnosEye claims that you are able to project an image from 17? to 45? diagonal from a projection distance of 0.5 to 2 meters away, but that remains to be seen until tested. Needless to say, you'll need to reduce the lights to a very dim level in order to see your images. Each purchase of the HypnosEye kit is equipped with both the projection lens unit and a portable 17? diagonal projection surface, retailing for $80 a pop.

Epson is proud to announce today that they are releasing another projector with a built in DVD player, the EH-DM3. This model features 2000 ANSI lumens, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and a very odd 940 x 540 resolution. The DVD player can not play blu-ray disks, but Epson has included an HDMI port so you can connect a Blu-ray player to it. Other connections include RGB, composite, component, and a USB port to show photos from your flash drive. The DM3 also comes with dual 10 watt speakers in order to fill the room with high quality sound. In addition to being an ideal movie projector, the DM3 can also be used for video games and it is light enough to travel on family vacations. Recently, Ray Display released their Ray pico projector, which features 10 ANSI lumens, VGA (640 x 480) resolution, and an LCoS display system. Before the company could truly sell the projector, the company has already announced that they are in the process of developing a new second generation projector. The company is not announcing any specifications at this time, but they did say that the next version will be able to display five times brighter than any notebook or personal computer. It makes you wonder how it will compare to the original Ray projector, but until more information is released, that will have to remain a mystery.

LightSleeper projector brings heavy sleep for light sleepers If you’re a hard worker, or not, but are having trouble with sleep or the lack of it thereof, there aren’t too many gadgets designed to assist you with the issue. However, a UK company called Quincom's Design Manager; a Ms. Kate Evan has developed what could be the solution for a good night’s sleep. The device, a mini projector that looks like a webcam, called LightSleeper, projects an image of moving light across the room’s ceiling in a controlled circular motion. The idea behind this is for you to just lay back and follow the motions of the projector which should induce relaxation and thereby sleep. The projector comes with a built in 30 minutes sleep timer so it doesn’t unnecessary consume power or have your neighbors wondering what’s going on. In case you’re still not asleep after 30 minutes, a light tap will reactivate the system. Kate Evan herself was an insomniac so she designed the LightSleeper to help cope. It seems that the concept could also be quite akin to that of hypnotism. Mind that no one in the vicinity projects any unwarranted suggestions while you’re ‘under’ or should I say ‘sound asleep’. InFocus Releases IN5504 and IN5534 Projectors

InFocus is the industry pioneer in digital projection. Recently, the company announced the release of their latest large venue projectors, the IN5504 and the IN5534. Both projectors feature the latest in DLP display technology and can display WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution with a 2000:1 contrast ratio. The IN5504 also displays 5000 ANSI lumens, while the IN5534 displays 7000 ANSI lumens. The added brightness allows the projector to display on to large screens with out worrying about ambient light drowning out the image. The connection panel for both projectors is incredibly diverse, featuring dual HDMI and RGB ports, a 5BNC port, component, s-video, and several audio ports as well.
