Canon Displays REALiS WUX10 Mark II D Projector

Canon is a leader in medical imaging. Today, the company announced that they will be at the 2009 Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting. There they will be displaying some of their latest products that are used to help the medical profession, including the new REALiS WUX10 Mark II D projector. This projector features 3200 ANSI lumens, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution. This projector is perfect for displaying intricate X-rays and other test results to large auditoriums. The higher than HD resolution ensures that even with big screen, every minute detail is visible. Canon also offers a DICOM Simulation mode with this projector to allow students to train and learn with out having to deal with the mess of the human body. Canon will be on display from November 29th to December 3rd at booth #8339.

Today, the reviewers from Pocket Lint released their complete review of the TW2900. One of the first highlights was the projector’s price. Up until recently, many 1080p projectors were far too expensive for the middle class citizen to own, but now with the surge of HD, the TW2900 is affordable for anyone. Another highlight is that the projector is originally designed for entry-level users and provides and quick and easy setup process as well as a vast variety of screen adjustment options. The TW2900 is more than capable of displaying full HD content with little trouble. The only noted problem is a lack of detail in the image. The Epson EH-TW5500 is one of the newest projectors to be released for the home theater. Today, the company announced that this projector is now available in the UK. The TW5500 features 1600 ANSI lumens, a 200000:1 contrast ratio, and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The connection panel includes dual HDMI ports as well as a composite, component, s-video and a RGB port. Epson has also equipped the TW5500 with an extra long lasting lamp that can run for 4000 hours. In addition, the projector is designed to run silently with only a 22 dB noise level. This ensures that viewers will not be disturbed by the projector’s running noise. The EH-TW5500 is available now through Epson’s website but the retail price was not listed.

The Jakks Pacific EyeClops Mini Projector is one of the first digital projectors to retail for under $100. This model does not have a lot of specifications available, but it uses an LED light system and comes with a composite connection that can handle DVD players, game consoles, and digital cameras. Originally the projector was priced to retail at $99, but according to I4U the projector is being sold through Amazon for only $69. The only downsides to the EyeClops are that it requires D-cell batteries in order to run and it is not the brightest pico projector available. But if you are ok with that then the EyeClops is a good deal.

It connects via USB and packs in the 3M Color Sequential Engine which throws an image of upto 6 - 50 inches with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Epson is the number 1 selling projector brand worldwide. Today, the company announced two new data projectors, the PowerLite 1830 and the PowerLite 1915. Both projectors feature 3LCD display technology, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. The 1830 also features 3500 ANSI lumens, while the 1915 is a little brighter with 4000 ANSI lumens. These projector both come with a wide array of connection options including RGB, s-video, composite, and a USB port for flash drives. The 1915 can also use the USB port for wireless connectivity via an 802.11 b/g connection. ‘We listened to the needs of business professionals and educators and developed a class of projectors to exceed industry demands,’ said Edgar Jimenez, product manager, Epson Projection, Epson America. ‘The PowerLite 1830, 1915 and 1925W offer brightness, connectivity, versatility, and ease of use – the four essentials needed in today’s mid-sized boardrooms and classrooms.’ Both projectors are currently available through the Epson website. Thanks to its WQXGA (2560x1600) resolution, the F35 projector can effectively display 78% more pixels than a WUXGA (1920x1200) counterpart. It used a DLP chip that basically controls 4.1 million mirrors (1 per pixel) to control how the image is displayed.

While this is an amazing feat of technology - what good will it do to you? This resolution is way beyond 1080p so it's overkill for consumer level movies. It will be better suited for professionals who want to show images or presentations at a resolution that is comparable to a high-end 30' display (it is stunning, believe me). Computer graphics enthusiast can also render custom-sized movies and of course, if money is burning your pockets, you could even use it for gaming. It's coming in the second half of next year, but there's no word on the pricing yet. It will probably cost two arms...'Check the complete specs on the official site.
